Each person has a very specific skin type that is quite difficult to define because it evolves over time, depending on age and hormones, but also due to external factors such as climate, temperature, heating, pollution, and lifestyle. Yet to choose cosmetics with well-defined active ingredients, we must still determine our skin's physiology.

Dry skin:
Most often fine and lovely, without dilated pores, dry skin causes tightness and discomfort. The reasons for dry skin are many. The stratum corneum lacks water, the hydrolipidic film on the surface is too thin and no longer protects the skin, and sebum becomes deficient…
Oily skin:
Its texture is thicker, pores are dilated, and the overall appearance of the skin is dull, greasy, and shiny. This skin type is prone to pimples and blackheads, and permanent excess sebum eventually causes thickening of the stratum corneum. This skin can be both oily and lack water—that is, be dehydrated.
Combination skin:
Dry where sebaceous glands are scarce (temples, cheeks, and jawline), it becomes oily along the median axis of the face (forehead, nose, and chin). Choosing the right cosmetics then becomes difficult.
Sensitive skin:
20% of women have a true sensitive-skin problem, and 40% frequently experience tightness and discomfort. Dry, oily, or combination—all skin types can be sensitive. This manifests as unexpected redness, tingling, and burning sensations.
Hydration and exfoliation are your best weapons for effectively fighting premature skin aging.
A moisturizing treatment combats the harmful effects of time and restores the skin's natural balance. Dry skin often leads to premature aging.
• For dry skin:
The best ultra-nourishing treatments allow you to regain unparalleled firmness and elasticity by stimulating your skin's natural collagen production. Vitamins A, C, and E as well as plant extracts in your moisturizing treatment are responsible for restoring radiance and tone to your epidermis. For optimal results, concentrate application on areas of the face showing the first signs of premature aging.
• For normal or oily skin:
Today there is a range of active moisturizers of remarkable effectiveness. Their silky texture is easy to apply to the skin. Note: some products can be very irritating to the skin because of the artificial fragrance or dyes they contain; opt for natural treatments that favor plants with recognized moisturizing qualities: lavender, cucumber, watercress, burdock, etc.
• For skin weakened by the sun:
Excessive exposure to UV rays is one of the primary causes of premature skin aging. Applying daily to the face and neck a treatment product that combines hydration and sun protection remains the best preventive gesture against premature aging. And for reactive skin, there are chemical-free sun products on the market that block sun rays without irritating the skin
Exfoliants, scrubs, peels—several names for a single way to fight premature aging: eliminate dead cells to regain soft, smooth, silky skin.
• For all skin types: a gentle exfoliating cream restores radiance to your skin and visibly improves its texture. The best treatments contain alpha and beta hydroxy acids, as well as natural fruit enzymes, which free the skin from its dull veil and dead cells. For optimal effectiveness, leave the cream on for 10 to 15 minutes then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. This type of exfoliation should be used one to two times per week.
• For oily skin, nothing beats a deep-cleansing scrub. The best for this type of treatment are exfoliants containing natural grains that give the skin a smooth, healthy appearance. For example, corn bran flour is ideal for gently eliminating surface debris responsible for dullness and ensures better absorption of moisturizing treatments.
• For mature skin: a daily exfoliating treatment regenerates the skin and instantly restores its radiance. Its plant extracts should soften the skin without causing irritation or redness. This type of treatment benefits from the latest scientific discoveries that have highlighted the virtues of mandarin, rice, red tea, and green tea for preserving natural hydration and the health of your epidermis. Use daily for visibly smoother skin.
Couperose does not affect only elderly people. 15% of the population is affected. Due to skin sensitivity, this microcirculation disorder requires special care adapted to resolving this blemish.
People with fragile skin and light-colored eyes will be more frequently exposed to this phenomenon. Similarly, while there is no hereditary character, when a parent is affected, the risk increases for their children.
Sensitive skin reacts to external aggressions with cutaneous hyperreactivity that manifests as burning, tingling, warming sensations, and sometimes redness. Diffuse and homogeneous, redness is located on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin. Over time, the small dilated vessels called telangiectasias lose their elasticity and the diffuse redness becomes permanent. Couperose has set in. Beyond its unsightly appearance, the unpleasant sensation of heat it generates is a real handicap.
The appearance of couperose is favored by certain factors that are best avoided:
• Spice consumption
• Alcohol
• Tobacco
• Very hot dishes
• Sudden temperature variations that trigger "flushes"
• UV rays
• Stress
Couperose, small spots, scars… the applications of lasers in cosmetic surgery are numerous, as are skin alterations. We distinguish between alterations due to aging and pigmented lesions. From peeling to laser, let us shed light on these techniques.
To restore the skin's full youth, three means are available to professionals: peeling (chemical), laser or lamp (radiation), or dermabrasion (mechanical).
Different "spots" can sometimes have an unsightly character:
• Couperose consists of small dilated vessels on the cheeks and nose;
• Erythrosis are diffuse facial rednesses, initially occurring in flare-ups with temperature changes or after meals. They become permanent after a few years of evolution;
• Erythrosis colli are unattractive persistent redness of the lateral sides of the neck;
• Ruby spots are multiple red spots scattered on the trunk;
• Port-wine stains are commonly called "wine stains." These lesions should be treated very early in early childhood, but excellent results are also obtained in adults.
Beyond these "spots," the skin is sometimes altered by the sun or simply by creasing (expression lines), against which abrasion can work wonders.
The number of sessions depends on the extent, location, and type of each lesion. A therapeutic test is always performed.
